LCMS Foundation

The LCMS Foundation was created in 1958 by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to assist LCMS members in the creation of charitable estate plans, and to help LCMS ministries invest the assets they possess, whether received as estate gifts from members or through other sources.
1333 South Kirkwood Road, St. Louis, MO, United States, 325-7912

The Foundation and its team of church workers have three primary areas of focus:  Gift Planning: Working with the LCMS members to create Christian estate and gift plans that allow them to make the very best gifts possible to family and ministry.  Endowment and Investment Management: Offering LCMS congregations and ministries access to world class investment expertise via a low-cost diversified investment model. Trust Administration: Providing expertise in all aspects of trust management, including charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, donor-advised funds, and pooled income funds.

What is gift planning?

Many people don’t believe they have the wealth to leave a significant bequest to their congregation, or to create an endowment for their LCMS school. However, in today’s world, most of our assets are “non-cash.” Whether it's retirement accounts, life insurance or our home, when we leave this Earth, we often have greater blessings than we realized. A gift plan structures how you’ll leave those assets to your loved ones in a way that often minimizes the taxes on your estate, providing an opportunity to do more with the blessings God has provided. More specifically, using financial vehicles, such as charitable remainder trusts, a gift plan often provides the same level of inheritance to your heirs while also allowing you to make a substantial gift to the ministry of your choice. Gift plans are for everyone, as we all possess gifts from God, and even the humblest gifts can make a positive impact.
